Presbyterian Senior Living is proud to announce the construction of the first phase of Carroll Village. This unique community represents a vision of an affordable, comprehensive community for seniors age 62 and over,
utilizing a traditional neighborhood concept. It will combine a mix of housing types, commerical space, and offices surrounding a town center
that will be pedestrian friendly.
Not only will it offer a small-town personality, but it will complement individual lifestyles with a perfect balance of privacy, hospitality, freedom, and security. The first phase
of construction will offer affordable housing to seniors made possible through 50 units of tax credit housing.
The following are distinguishing features of Carroll Village:
- The use of architectural scale and building relationships to create a pedestrian-friendly community.
- Redefinition of the continuum of service to seniors to deemphasize skilled nursing as a focal point of the continuum.
- Creation of home delivered services to encourage aging in place as the primary means of creating a continuum of care.
- Create a mixed income population on the same campus to broaden the range of persons served.
- To diversify the types of housing options available on a single campus - Architecture (apartments, single family and duplex cottages, live-work, town houses)
- Financial arrangements (tax credit, market rate rental, equity model, commerical ownership).
- To engage senior housing and services with the wider community: Commercial activities to draw the larger community into the Village. Include some non-age restricted housing on the site in selected areas. Programmatically reach out to the larger community with home delivered service.
